W.A.Y. GroupSt. Bernadette Parish shares a joint Youth Ministry Program with St. Ladislas Church called the Westlake Area Youth Group which is open to all high school and college age youth. The W.A.Y. Group’s mission is to reach out to high school students, to invite them to worship, to care for them by connecting them with a faith community encouraging them to grow in their relationship with God and to be of service to Him. The Westlake Area Youth Group offers diverse opportunities for prayer, faith sharing, community building fellowship, catechesis, service and evangelization. Some of the activities include: Retreats: We offer high school students two weekend retreats a year, Fall and Spring. Our Peer Ministry Based Retreat Team Program, based on the SEARCH model, gives teen leaders the catechesis needed to minister to their peers and witness to their faith.
Insight Nights: Our weekly Youth Gatherings give teens a chance to study the Bible topically and discuss topics important to them. These meetings are an opportunity to go deeper into the study of our faith, experience fellowship in our parish community, and have fun.
Service: We offer many opportunities for service including bi-monthly Soup Kitchen Trips, helping with projects for St. Vincent de Paul, the Cleveland Food Bank, Mission Trips, and with the FEST. All high school and college aged students are welcome to any of our activities. There are no membership requirements to begin participating. For more information check out our web site at www.thewaygroup.org. Adult leaders and volunteers are always needed. |
