ST. BERNADETTE SCHOOL'S ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE IS PROVEN St. Bernadette School scored higher than 99% of all schools nationally at the second, third, seventh and eighth grade levels on standardized tests. Our school scored higher than 98% of all schools nationally at the first, fourth and fifth grade levels and scored higher than 97% of all schools nationally at the sixth grade level. (IOWA Tests of Basic Skills, March 2007) DIOCESAN & STATE OF OHIO APPROVED CURRICULUM St. Bernadette follows curriculum requirements established by the Diocese of Cleveland and the State of Ohio. Every student receives instruction in Religion, Language Arts (Reading, Phonics, Spelling, Vocabulary), English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, Guidance, Art, Computer, Music and Physical Education. Spanish was added in the 2005-2006 school year. Both full-day and half-day kindergarten are available. Individual learning needs are addressed through an intervention specialist and/or speech therapy. CARING FACULTY AND STAFF St. Bernadette School comprises 25 certified teachers, dedicated office personnel and a professional maintenance staff. We have a certified guidance counselor, full-time registered nurse in our clinic, and a registered dietician who directs nutrition services. OUR STUDENTS ARE WELL-PREPARED FOR HIGH SCHOOL Last year, 100% of St. Bernadette Students were accepted at local Catholic High Schools, with no remedial summer school classes required. Most are enrolled in high school honor classes, with many receiving academic scholarships. Ninety-percent (90%) of St. Bernadette Alumni are on the honor roll at these local Catholic High Schools.
